BIG SCREEN

Drillbit Taylor (PG-13): Tired of being picked on by bullies, two kids hire a former soldier (Owen Wilson) to serve as their personal bodyguard. Which only makes things worse.

Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns (PG-13): Diary of a Mad Black Woman's indomitable grandma Madea returns for this comic drama about a set-upon single mother (Tamela Mann) who travels to Georgia to attend the funeral of her father, whom she never met.

Shutter (PG-13): After an accident, a newlywed couple (Joshua Taylor and Rachael Taylor) start seeing frightening images in their photographs.

SMALL SCREEN

The Riches (10 p.m. Tuesday, FX) -- This comedy-drama about a family of gypsy grifters conning their way into straight society returns for a second season. As always, Wayne (Eddie Izzard) and Dahlia (Minnie Driver) are on the verge of being found out, and in this week's season debut, they decide the only way to avoid being caught is to split up. Unless that's a con, too.

John Adams (8 p.m. Sunday) -- Starring Paul Giamatti as the second American president, this extraordinary eight-week HBO miniseries is about ideas rather than costumes. The full review starts on 1M.
