Screen Gems: Coming this week on TV and at the movies

BIG SCREEN

City of Men (R) -- Fernando Meirelles produced this sequel to his Oscar-nominated debut City of God, returning to the Brazilian slums to focus on two best friends caught on opposite sides of a gang war.

Semi-Pro (R) -- Will Ferrell is a singer-turned-basketball team owner who takes to the court to lead his team, the Flint Michigan Tropics, to achieve something they've never done before: Win a game.

The Other Boleyn Girl (PG-13) -- Two sisters (Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson) compete for the affections of the king of England (Eric Bana) in this adaptation of Philippa Gregory's bestselling novel.

Bonneville (PG-13) -- Three best friends (Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Joan Allen) head out on a road trip intent on healing their respective emotional wounds.

SMALL SCREEN

A Raisin in the Sun (8 p.m. Monday, WPLG-ABC 10) -- The artist sometimes known as Diddy reprises his Broadway role in the small-screen adaptation of the Lorraine Hansberry play. Phylicia Rashad, Audra McDonald, Sanaa Lathan and John Stamos co-star.

Back To You (9 p.m. Tuesday, WSVN-Fox 7) -- Fox's best sitcom comes back with new episodes. Finally, Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton can get back to bickering on news breaks.

Hard Road Home (11 p.m. Tuesday, WPBT-PBS 2) -- Documentary in the PBS series Independent Lens follows a group of ex-cons who try to turn around the fates of fellow parolees.

The Gates (10 p.m. Tuesday, HBO) -- While Christo is probably better known here for Surrounded Islands -- a 1983 artistic installation in which 11 islands in Biscayne Bay were swathed in pink polypropylene -- his latest project to receive acclaim is 2005's The Gates, which was 24 years in the making. This documentary follows that process, along with the installation of the 7,503 panels of orange fabric in New York's Central Park that made up the artwork.
