`The Rant' premieres at New Theatre
In Andrew Case's The Rant, an investigator (Pilar Uribe) probing the shooting death of an unarmed, black 16-year-old by a New York police officer discovers that the truth lies somewhere beneath a mountain of deceit and prejudice. The world premiere of Case's play happens this weekend at New Theatre, 4120 Laguna St., Coral Gables, where the production runs through Oct. 26. Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, 1 p.m. Sunday (additional shows at 5:30 p.m. some Sundays). Tickets are $40 ($35 Thursday and Sunday evenings; $15 student rush tickets).
