Matt Damon doesn’t mind sharing his feelings about his wife.
He recently opened up to ET about what has made them tick for so long — more than a decade married.
Miamians may recall Damon met his wife of 11 years, native Argentine Luciana Barroso while he was shooting the comedy “Stuck on You,” partially filmed in town in 2002. It was about Siamese twins (Greg Kinnear played Damon’s brother) trying to find love.
The way Damon tells it that he and the crew went out to Crobar on South Beach after a long day on the set, and Barroso was bartending. For those of you who don’t believe in fate...
Never miss a local story.
The couple have three daughters, as well as Luciana's daughter from a previous marriage to Arbello “Arby” Barroso.
Promoting the latest Bourne movie, Damon said he believes that not being married to a celebrity has a lot to do with their longevity.
“I think it helped that she was [what] we would call a civilian. She’s not in the business and there's not that whole curiosity about her,” he told the gossip show. “They let us be a normal family. I feel lucky that I get to do the work that I want to do and at the same time, I get to have a relatively normal life.”
They were married December 9, 2005, in NYC.
They used to have a Star Island home here but sold it in 2014 for more than $15 million.
