The ABC News correspondent married his boyfriend, actor-model-social media guru Tommy DiDario, Saturday at the Walton House in Homestead.

“Can’t believe our love story is the top trend on Facebook right now,” posted Benitez on Sunday of his love, a lifestyle blogger whom he reportedly met via Instagram.
“It’s so special to see how excited our friends and family have been about this wedding,” Benitez told People. “It truly is a celebration of love – our own, and what love means in their own lives. We are so moved and humbled to celebrate together.”

His parents have way local roots — mom works as a customer-service manager for home products manufacturer Courey International, and dad is a captain in Miami of the Florida Department of Corrections, reports The New York Times.
Gio is an alum of Miami Coral Park High School as well as Florida International University.
The NYC based journalist, 30, works on such shows as Good Morning America, World News Tonight and 20/20.
