Telemundo personalities Neida Sandoval and Ana María Canseco joined Guatemalan journalist Celeste Rodas de Juárez as she launched Hijos4Ever.com (Children Forever), a blog in Spanish dedicated to celebrating and highlighting the challenges of caring for aging parents.
The sandwich generation — those caring for young children and aging parents — will find Hijos4Ever.com to be a resource in Spanish that provides insight about supporting parents through their later years.
“It's surprising that though there are 20 million blogs in the United States, there is nothing dedicated to caring for and entertaining our parents,” says Juárez, who writes for publications like People en Español and Nexos.
The event, which took place at the Hyatt Place Airport East, was hosted by Sandoval and Canseco, who both consider the website an important resource.
“I think it is very important to have a site like this,” Sandoval says. “Those who know me know that I go to very few public events because I am always with my family. But I couldn’t miss this because it is a theme that is very close to my heart: taking care of my parents. I wouldn’t be able to consider myself a successful person if I did not give my parents a place of importance.”
The blog counts on Q&As with bold-faced names like actress Génesis Rodríguez, daughter of singer El Puma; polo champion Nacho Figueras; and journalists María Celeste Arrarás, Sandoval and Tony Dandrades, who all discuss their relationships with their parents and how they continue to love and support them.
