Four-time Grammy Award-nominated rock band Daughtry put on quite a show at Hard Rock Live Friday night. But just a day earlier, lead singer Chris Daughtry was called out on social media for lip syncing Long Live Rock and Roll at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. The American Idol alum defended his actions on Twitter, saying he wasn’t the only one to mouth the lyrics: “So did EVERYBODY ELSE!” he wrote. Yeah, like Mariah Carey.
On Saturday night, also at Hard Rock Live, lovers of all things ’80s were in for a treat when the top-selling duo in music history, Hall & Oates, took the stage. Hard to believe Daryl Hall is 69, and John Oates 67. The two seniors (!) effortlessly pulled off a 14-song set list, starting with Maneater and ending with Private Eyes.
Sunday was Funday for close to 300 guests who helped kick off Art Week at The Little Lighthouse Art Week Opening Beach Party at Nautilus, a SIXTY Hotel. Pieces from New York City artist Eddy Bogaert (known by some affectionately as “Jackson Pollock on steroids”) transformed an oceanfront tent into an imaginative oasis while guests danced on the sand. The event raised more than $25,000 for the foundation that benefits local needy families.
