After a review of those exchanges, The New York Times reported that Sony blunted parts of the movie, in which Smith plays the first scientist to uncover the fatal effects of repeated head trauma. In a statement, Sony called the Times story “misleading.”

The Outnumbered host says the toy wrongfully appropriates her name and persona, and harms her professional credibility as a journalist. “Hasbro’s portrayal of Faulkner as a rodent is demeaning and insulting,” says the suit, filed in U.S. District Court in New Jersey, adding that the toy bears a resemblance to Faulkner, including its complexion, eye shape and makeup.
