Jasmine Kyle, a former South Florida resident and Miami Beach High graduate, had “an adventure of a lifetime,” as she competed to become the one true hero on ABC’s The Quest.
Kyle, 32, who now lives in Media, Pennsylvania, was whisked away on a 30-day adventure to the fictional world of Everealm (Austria) last summer. The self-proclaimed fantasy fanatic, who graduated Beach High in 2001, and her fellow Paladins competed in challenges to save the kingdom.
Every week one of the Paladins were banished.
“It was an amazing experience,” she said, adding she was sad to have to leave her outfit and sword behind.
The 10 episodes, which run on Thursday nights on ABC, began last week and will end with one Paladin being named the true hero. On the first episode the contestants had to team up and shoot arrows at targets.
Kyle, a homemaker, who has a 5-year-old son and is expecting a daughter in December, said seeing the first episode with her friends and a fellow contestant was exciting.
“It’s a great show that everyone can watch,” she said.
MOVING RIGHT ALONG
Miss Burn Notice? Well, try not to. Because that show really is a thing of the past. How we know: the longtime running USA spy drama’s star Jeffrey Donovan recently severed ties with the area, reports The Wall Street Journal.
The onetime bachelor’s three-bedroom pad at the Capri South Beach was listed for $2.95 million in December, and sold for $2.5M last week to anonymous rich people who were represented by Million Dollar Listing Miami star Chris Leavitt of Douglas Elliman Real Estate. As for Donovan, the actor is a family man now, having moved back to Los Angeles with his wife, Miami model Michelle Woods, and their young daughter.
At least we still have Gabrielle Anwar in our midst. The actress is hot and heavy with Forge owner Shareef Malnik.
HERE’S THE SKINNY
We may be seeing a lot more of Bethenny Frankel around these parts. Life & Style reports that the former talk show host’s boyfriend, financier Michael “Mac” Cerussi, is ready to pop the question — once a deal with Frankel’s contentious ex, Jason Hoppy, is hammered out.
Frankel’s already met Mac’s family, most of whom live in South Florida. His mother, Kathryn Cerussi, a former magazine editor, reportedly has a home in Juno Beach, and he has two sisters in the area.
As for putting down stakes, that’s doubtful. RadarOnline reports the Skinnygirl (who graduated from the Pine Crest boarding school in Fort Lauderdale in 1988) is in talks with Bravo about rejoining Real Housewives of NYC.
THE BIG TIME
An appearance at MTV studios then a meet and greet at Planet Hollywood in NYC Wednesday went well for talented homeboy Jake Miller. The Weston rapper actually made TMZ because of all the screaming fans clamoring to do selfies with the young man in Times Square. “Isn’t he the guy from the Supercuts commercials?” remarked the gossip site’s head Harvey Levin after the chaotic video was shown. Why, yes, among other things. Miller’s new single, First Flight Home, premiered on MTV on Thursday and can be seen on YouTube.
