Starting today, The People Page will do an occasional feature embracing #ThrowbackThursday, a social media trend in which users post pictures or memories of specific events to celebrate the passage of Father Time.

Want to really date yourself? As in feel as old as sand? Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week-Swim turns 10 when it starts up again Thursday. To commemorate, we turn the clock back to 2007 when Jessica Simpson was not Mrs. Jessica Johnson, a newly married mother of two who successfully battled the baby bulge with the help of Weight Watchers. Back then, she was a divorced fashion designer dating her Employee Of The Month costar Dane Cook, gracing us with her presence and namesake swimwear designs at a runway show. All without the help of Instagram. For info:

Sticking with the old-fogey theme: Who out there realizes that Ben Stiller is 48 freaking years old? It doesn’t seem all that long ago when he was filming scenes from 1998’s There’s Something About Mary in South Florida. Stiller left desperate nebbish mode in 2001’s Zoolander, in which he played a vapid model. Catch the hysterical flick (hard to forget the gasoline-hose fight scene) at The Standard Spa, which is hosting a series of events for Swim Week. The Dive-In Movie starts at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. RSVP a must at 305-673-1717. Space is limited.

Jon Secada is sweatin’ to the oldies. The local crooner is starring in a new bilingual ad campaign for Wendy’s returning pretzel buns. The song playing in the background of the clip — shot in Miami — is Secada’s 1992 hit, Otra dia mas sin verte, with an, um, twist. Secada sings with the original music but then subs out the lyrics with actual Tweets from consumers of the fast food chain; e.g., “OMG delicioso.” Yes, Secada says “OMG.” Pretty amusing, ahem, gracioso.

Ever look at your kids (or someone else’s kids) and get envious that they get to draw and paint and play all day? Relive the days of arts and crafts class 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Splendid store at the Aventura Mall. The L.A.-based lifestyle brand has partnered with mini-Martha Stewart/TLC’s Craft Wars judge Erica Domesek of the DIY website for a “cool + crafty” event. Your mission: With your purchase of a $38 summery Brushtroke Tank Top, you can put your creativity to work.
