In town promoting his new song I Want the Love, Sean “Puffy” Combs wanted to make sure all was well with the sound, so his management called the owners of E11even saying they just left the studio with the new single and wanted to hear the song one last time on a good sound system. Apparently naked women aren’t the only thing the swank strip club is known for; it also has a fancy Funktion One resolution 6 sound system. So Combs and his entourage showed up at the 24/7 club at 4 p.m. Thursday and played the track. Says our spy, “He and his crew jammed out and said they loved that fact that Miami has a 24-hour club.”
Congratulations to The Regent Cocktail Club’s Julio Cabrera, who emerged as one of the top five finalists in Bombay Sapphire’s third annual World’s Most Imaginative Bartender competition. The winner came from France but Cabrera, the winner of the national competition that led him to the finals in London, was the only U.S. representative in the top five.
So the man we reported as being Alex Rodriguez’s father at Prime 112 last week? Not quite. It was Miami architect Ralph Choeff, who isn’t quite old enough to be ARod’s dad. “I’m crying from laughing so hard,” Choeff told us. At least he has a sense of humor. Meanwhile, Radamel Falcao, Colombian soccer star, who plays for AS Monaco and represents the Colombia national football team, was seen Tuesday having dinner in the wine room at Prime 112. On Thursday night, Nick Cannon, in town for DJ Irie’s big charity weekend, was seen having dinner there too.
While he may not be at the World Cup, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, considered one of the world’s best soccer players, had dinner with his wife and kids Monday at Meat Market.
Despite reports that he is opting out of his Miami Heat contract, Chris “Birdman” Andersen was seen getting his sushi fix Wednesday at SUSHISAMBA in Coral Gables where executive sushi chef Eric Ou prepared a special tasting for the player and his two pals.
