The Footlighters Club on Friday will roast actor-comedian Sal Richards at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Hollywood.

Richards, a longtime Las Vegas comic who has appeared in films and on television, will receive the Shecky Greene lifetime achievement award, said spokesman Jack McDermott.

Celebrity roasters will include Rat Pack-era singing and comedy stars Connie Francis, Woody Woodbury, Joe Bologna & Renee Taylor, Pat Cooper, Dick Capri, Freddy Roman, Michelle Balan, son Guy Richards and Connie Stevens. Comic Lou Marsh will be roastmaster.

“It’s very flattering that they want to honor me like this,” said Brooklyn-born Richards, who now lives in West Palm Beach and performs in South Florida clubs and condos. “Of course, they’ll rip me a new one, but they have to remember I get the last word.”

The roast, produced by singer-comedian Errol Dante, will begin at noon Friday at the Hard Rock Grand Ballroom. Call 305-651-3823 for information or tickets ($75 for Footlighters Club members, $100 for nonmembers). Proceeds from the social club’s roast will benefit indigent entertainers and musicians.
