Not that Trina needs much help in the beauty department, but like the majority of females, the so called Diamond Princess likes to get done up nice.
The 36-year-old rapper born Katrina Laverne Taylor was batting some serious eyelashes on Monday afternoon during a photo shoot for L.A.-based Body of Royalty cosmetics at Soul Rebel Xperience studio in Wynwood.
Turns out Trina wasn’t born this way — the lashes had been recently applied by a professional with a skin friendly adhesive. They should last up to 25 wears.
“No way could I do this myself!” said the Liberty City rapper and Miami Northwestern Senior High School alum. “I wish I could. I’m obsessed. I can’t even tell that I have them on. They feel so natural.”
Never miss a local story.
Want to try out this process yourself? The lashes, made of mink, come out for $24.99 on BodyofRoyalty.com March 24, the same day her single Real One with fellow Miamian Rico Love drops on iTunes. The album comes out this summer.
Nice to know that we have rap royalty in our midst because Trina, despite her popularity in the hip-hop community, won’t relocate, to say Los Angeles.
“I would never live anywhere else,” she said. “I just came from a tour in Canada, where it was zero degrees and there was snow on the ground. I just love Miami. This is my home.”
IN THE ‘HOUSE’
A few locals got a sneak peek of a cast member of Real Housewives Of New York City, Kristen Taekman.
The 37-year-old model and mother of two, flew in for The World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship’s Fashion Experience with Dolce & Gabbana and hosted by Ivanka Trump Thursday.
On Friday, Taekman ventured out of Doral to eat at Lure Fishbar at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, tweeting that “my favorite restaurant in NY is now my favorite restaurant in Miami,” as there is a sister property in Manhattan’s SoHo.
Last month, the gorgeous social media fan told The New York Daily News that her goal is to help ratings in her second season of RHONY, possibly due to friction with returning “Housewife” Bethenny Frankel, who is reportedly standoffish to her as well as season 7 newcomer Dorinda Medley.
“I thought that with Bethenny, it’s like you can’t judge a book by its cover,” Taekman said, adding, “I can’t read the cover of the book anymore. I guess I don’t speak that language.”
SEEN & HEARD
Sofia Vergara’s ex Nick Loeb’s Hollywood career seems to be taking off. Not like Joe Manganiello’s but...The Delray Beach entrepreneur is filming action thriller Extraction with Bruce Willis, who plays a CIA operative. According to IMDB.com, Loeb plays Vinn, but it is unclear if the character is a baddie or goodie. Meanwhile, while Loeb does the acting thing, Vergara and Mangianello were witnessed checking out The Breakers in Palm Beach as the possible site of their summer wedding.
Nayib Estefan is talented in his own right (parents are Emilio and Gloria Estefan). The DJ worked the tables Sunday during nonprofit Voices Against Brain Cancer’s inaugural “Join the Voices! Miami Run/Walk” in Tropical Park.
Dwyane Wade Sr. — the Miami Heat star's dad and namesake — was seen Friday night at NoVe Kitchen & Bar. He graciously took pics with diners.
