Pitbull wasn’t on Miami time Wednesday night. Mr. 305 started his half-hour surprise set at 7 p.m. on the dot at the grand opening of Brickell City Centre, the highly anticipated new micro city constructed in the middle of the action of the so-called financial district.
Even the rain couldn't stop the “I Know You Want Me” singer, who went on to do a medley of his hits.
As the downpour began, the dapper showman, dressed in all black, kept going with scantily clad dancers swaying in the background.
After Pitbull closed his show telling the audiece he loved them, event planner extraordinaire Susanne Bartsch — of NYC’s Copacabana fame — kicked off the party in her signature, eccentric style, with models on stilts, bird masks and elaborate costumes.
Never miss a local story.
“This place is amazing,” said Bartsch, wearing elongated eye lashes and a black Marie Antoinette style wig.
Roughly 1,500 local luminaries sipped on champagne and walked about the 500,000 square foot retail complex anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue, where shoppers ogled the luxury offerings.
