America, your golden boy hasn’t let you down yet. At least we don’t think.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services could not confirm nor deny it was involved with an allegation involving Brad Pitt.
But a spokesman told DailyMail.com that the DCF isn’t allowed to confirm or deny the subjects involved.
At least the Los Angeles Police Department is not investigating the Hollywood stalwart for child abuse, Sgt. Barry Montgomery told THR.
Never miss a local story.
“We have no criminal investigation that we are actively pursuing,” Montgomery said. “To my knowledge, never happened. And right now, that is where our office is. We are not investigating any case, nor do we have any allegations against Mr. Pitt. We understand how rumors get spun up, and hopefully we can put a few of them to rest.”
And this: “The LAPD is not handling any report or allegations into child abuse for Mr. Brad Pitt,” read a statement published by Us Weekly.
Multiple celebrity news outlets including TMZ reported that last Wednesday, one day before Angelina Jolie’s divorce filing, the “Ocean’s Eleven” star was drunk aboard a private jet and became physically and verbally abusive with their kids, and that he was ranting and raving on the tarmac when the plane landed.
Interesting factoid: The Daily Mail adds that on early Thursday a police squad car was seen at the Jolie-Pitt mansion in Hollywood, where Pitt is believed to be staying while Jolie and the six children are staying elsewhere.
CNN reports that Pitt is cooperating with authorities.
The AP reports that the FBI confirmed is gathering information about the incident and is still evaluating whether to start a probe into what went down.
