Saturday's
Wynwood & Design District Art Walk falls on Bastille Day, and Dot Fiftyone Gallery is celebrating with a quirky homage to France -- a seven-foot high version of the Statue of Liberty's head on the roof deck of the gallery -- and a new show, Transforming Light. Through the work of eight international artists, the exhibition explores how light affects perception. Featured are
Mauro Giaconi (Argentina),
Marc Ash (France),
Ruddy Candillon (France),
Patrick Laumond (France),
Andres Ferrandis (Spain/Miami),
Yom (France, whose fiberglass sculpture,
Ami-Ami, is above),
Leonel Matheu (Cuba/Miami), and
Max Gómez Canle (Argentina).
Transforming Light is a collaborative project by MoonStar, Dot Fiftyone Gallery, and Ilana Vardy, former director of Art Miami. The gallery is at 51 NW 36th St.; 305-573-9994;
