ART PICK

'Oikos: Photographs by Juan Carlos Agüero' at Zu Galeria Fine Arts

Champions of Little Havana as a cultural destination want art lovers to know that the district is staging exhibits beyond the famed Viernes Culturales, the popular revelry of art, food and music on the last Friday of the month. Opening at 8 p.m. Saturday is Oikos: Photographs by Juan Carlos Agüero, lush Everglades landscapes and wildlife portraits by a photographer who was an archaeology student in late-1980s Cuba and is now published in the calendar and the yearbook of the Florida Wildlife Federation and in a collaborative project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Celebrate Urban Birds.

Oikos is on view at Zu Galeria Fine Arts, 2248 SW Eighth St.; 786-443-5872; manny19526@aol.com and www.anhingawildlife.com. Partial proceeds from opening-night sales will benefit the Wildlife Foundation of Florida.
