The summer heat calls for cooler clothes, but it's not slowing down the second Saturday Wynwood and Design District Gallery Walk. Here are some show highlights:
Locust projects transforms its exhibition space into a documentary-production studio for Balls in the Air, a recording session of the Wet Heat project. Artists, dealers and people who ''simply love art'' are invited to sit in for a 60-minute interview from 7 to 10 p.m. Also debuting is Jason Hedges' performance installation Untitled (Judd Caja China) in the courtyard area, which references Donald Judd's seminal 1968 sculpture and the wood 'Chinese Box' Cubans use to roast their pigs. Locust Projects, 155 NE 38th St., Suite 100, Miami; 305-576-8570; www.locustprojects.org.
No need for fancy gadgets if you yearn to step back in time. Simply enjoy Time Machine, an exhibition of vintage photography by Robert G. Zuckerman, including the Safeway stop in New Mexico, 1977, above. Zuckerman is known for his advertising and publicity images for such films as The Crow, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Any Given Sunday, Training Day, Bad Boys 2, National Treasure, Transformers. Show extended to Aug. 1 at Hardcore Art Contemporary Space, 3326 N. Miami Ave., 305-576-1645; www.hardcoreartcontemporary.com.
