She’s had enough.
In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal, the world was watching and waiting for his wife Georgina Chapman to make a move.
What did the disgraced movie producer’s spouse think of the allegations that he assaulted, abused and took advantage of famous and nonfamous women for years?
Last week, a New York Times article exposed Weinstein in a bombshell piece and things have been crumbling for the Miramax co-founder ever since.
In a story published online by The New Yorker, three women accused Weinstein of raping them, including the Italian actress and filmmaker Asia Argento and a college student.
The 65 year old native New Yorker has since been publicly humiliated, dumped by his lawyer (Lisa Bloom), fired by his own company, then boom! left by his wife of 10 years. She announced the split late Tuesday.
“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions,” the Marchesa designer said in a statement to People. “I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.” The ex couple have two kids — Pearl, 7, and Dashiell, 4.
Since the shocking reports surfaced, the 41 year old gorgeous Brit had been getting trolled on social media for not leaving him earlier and the hashtag #boycottmarchesa began to trend.
“What’s wrong with you, why are you supporting your pervert husband? I am now an EX-customer of Marchesa!” wrote one dissatisfied customer on Twitter.
“Georgina Chapman really sold her soul,” posted another. “Sad, because she was talented enough to succeed without having to sleep with that pig.”
