Melania Trump is not a happy camper.
And Ivana Trump is to blame.
Donald Trump’s ex-wife spoke to ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Monday and got territorial.
Ivana, to promote her memoir “Raising Trump,” was asked how she gets along with the president these days.
The native Czech, who divorced The Donald in 1992 after his affair with Marla Maples (aka “the showgirl”), answered that they talk fairly often and she has a direct number for POTUS.
“I don’t want to call him there,” she added, “because Melania is there and I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I’m basically first Trump wife. I’m first lady, ok?”
Melania could have stayed silent and taken the high road. Instead she fired up a statement via spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham.
“Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and the President. She loves living in Washington, DC, and is honored by her role as first lady of the United States. She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books,” the statement read. “There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex, this is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise.”
According to publisher Gallery Books the book is about how, as the custodial parent of their kids — Eric, Ivanka and Donald Jr. — Ivana “proudly instilled in them what she believes to be the most important life lessons: loyalty, honesty, integrity and drive.”
