This summer, some students and young adults are spending their vacation time traveling abroad to Latin American and Caribbean countries to help those less fortunate.

Taxpayers foot the bill for the renovation, which works out to $60,000 per unit.

While many middle and elementary schools have merged to become K-8 centers, the idea of a 6-12 school is still new.

Archbishop Curley Notre Dame Troubadours instrumental ensemble and Knightingales choir group performed a spring concert at the Little Haiti school on April 26. The Troubadours, a secondary school community band, consists of students from various local schools. The group performed both classical and contemporary selections.

The civil rights leader spoke to about 200 Sunday afternoon at a church, and said it was crucial that young people to register to vote.
