Asian nibbles, unique drinks lure them to Domo Japones

alrodriguez@MiamiHerald.com

Sushi lovers may come to the Design District's artsy Domo Japones to nibble on black edamame and sophisticated rolls, but the unique drinks help keep the conversation flowing. Bar chef Elad Zvi created the Asian bistro's drink menu including our favorites, the Pomo Domo and the CQ Float.

D.I.Y.

• Poma Domo: Combine 2 slices English cucumber, 1 ounce pomegranate juice, 1 ounce organic maple syrup, ½ ounce fresh lime juice and 2 ounces vodka in a chilled cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake 12 seconds. Double strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an organic edible flower.

• CQ Float: Measure 2 ½ ounces St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur and 3 ounces champagne or other sparkling white wine into a Boston glass filled with ice. Stir with a bar spoon 10 times to the right and 10 times to the left. Pour into a champagne glass. (Domo Japones tops it with cucumber foam, a concoction that requires a juicer and a whipped cream maker.)

F.Y.I.

Cocktails are $14-$18 at Domo Japones, 4000 NE Second Ave., Miami; 305-573-5474.
