Estimadísima Martha: Your message to Ada Díaz Pérez, dated 10/04/2013, brought to my attention for the first time that there was a Catholic facility in Colorado Springs to which Pedro Pan children were relocated. In the 5 years that I have been researching such facilities this is the first time I have heard of a facility on Colorado Springs. I am very well aware of facilities in Denver and Pueblo, nonetheless. Would you please let me know the name of the facility in Colorado Spring so that I may be able to include it in my research? By the way, Pedro Pan boys in Mount Saint Vincent were allowed and did visit regularly with the Pedro Pan girls staying at Queen of Heaven, as some of the boys had their sisters staying at the latter. Weather permitting, the boys walked over to Queen of Heaven, as some of them have pointed out in their postings. The orphanages, as I’ve been given to understand, were about a mile or so apart. However, I am yet to find any information that there was any interaction between the Pedro Pans of Denver and those staying at Sacred Heart in Pueblo. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter and the warmest of regards, José Antonio Amaro Reyes.

Tu no vivias en la calzada del Cerro, No? Donde se desviaba y hacia la izquierda se convertia en la calzada de Luyano, y si seguias derecho ibas hacia Santos Suarez.

Hola Marta. Yo me fui de Sacramento, St. Patrick's Home for Children, 6 meses despues de llegar. Volvi en 1999 de visita, pero vivo en la Florida.

Martha S says: I just read a book in English, "The Red Umbrella", written by Christina Diaz Gonzalez. The novel is based on the experiences of her Pder Pan parents.

Martha: I was at Queen of Heaven for a short time, from 22 May to 10 August. We were the first group sent there from Kendall. We were Alicia Mestre, Ana Gemo Lopo and her sister Lourdes, Chari Firmat and another set of two sisters whose name I don´t remember now...I will later for sure. There were two sisters there already but did not arrive through Kendall. They were Alina and Magda Arias. After the years I found Silvia Llanes and Cira Debessa who also were sent to Denver but arrived there after I left. I was there with the big girls and the younger sisters with the middle ones. Hope this help. I have some pictures I should upload but I have to find them first! Hope this helps.

We were at Sacred Heart Orphanage in Pueblo, Co. I'm surprised we were never made aware of the Pedro Pans at the Queen of Heaven orphanage in Denver. How did your situation develop?
