Hi Doug, we never met, I don't think, but we share something in common ... YAKIMA. I was on the first flight from Florida, I believe there were three and each had children from different camps. I shipped out of Florida City and arrived in Yakima "VALLEY" in June of '62. I skipped 5th. and got plugged into 6th. at McKinley Elementary. I then went to St. Paul's Cathedral for 7th. & 8th. and made the jump to, yes ... Central Catholic (The Chieftans ?) where I attended first semester and then finally, reunited with my parents who were finally able to get out via Madrid, Spain. At Central Cath. I got my first taste of football. Played fullback and linebacker and gained some experience to carry over to Miami Senior High where I continued to play as a defensive lineman. I received an athletic scholarship to play at a small school, St. Joseph's College in Indiana where I received my BS in Physical & Health Education. I presently teach at Miami High and have been for 30 yrs. I then continued my education while teaching and received an MS in Computer Science Education. Iíve been in a computer lab ever since these machines came into the classroom. I did coach football and wrestling there for quite a few years, but hung-up my whistle. Good to hear from a Yakima dude. Keep in touch, Noly Perez
