Hello, Clara:
Greetings from Houston, TX.
It is a very small world the one we live on. I never expected to find your name here. I am so shook up I don’t even know how I landed on your page. Honestly, I did not know you were a Pedro Pan sister and honestly I don’t recall knowing you from before but the minute I saw your name, a light went on my little brain. I recognized your name instantly although it has been close to 50 years since I have heard it. You are Pedro’s sister. I remember him well. Pedro and I were in the same boarding school (Padre Varela) back in Cuba, in Colon, Matanzas. I think you might had another sister at the same school that was ahead of me in school (a very politically correct way to say that she was born before I was).
For those that will read this message and did know Pedro I will say that Pedro was a young man that was assassinated by the “milicia”. Pedro was a patriot. Pedro is a guy that should never be forgotten.
It is amazing how this data base brings us full circle, how it triggers back so many memories, how it ties together a bond that time, distance and circumstances were never able to dissolve.
Best wishes to you and your family wherever you might be.

Haydee, I am so blessed that we found each other again, confirming that the bond that united us as children would never be broken. Hopefully, we will find our other Pedro Pan sisters.
