When I arrived in Miami, I was met by George and taken to the old Florida City Camp where I stayed with the Perez-Plana family until 09/24/62 when I was sent to a foster home in Winnetka, IL. A few ot...
But you and I did not meet. I was in Chicago since Dec 1961 through 1964. Have re connected with some of my Pedro Pan Chicago friends, but you and I did not meet then. See how productive this website has been....people we missed while we were there can now exchange their views on Chicago Pedro Pans.
No, I don't remember you. I have re connected with Maria Bechilly from the Chicago Pedro Pans, also. I still have the photos of Lisieux's after she got married, and had a baby shower...but I have lost contact after we were married and our mother's passed away. Are you in contact with her? Thanks for your help.
Gracias.
Lisiex lived with the Pettigrews...a very nice family very close to me in Winnetka. I even saw her later in life, because our mothers remained friends for many years.
If I met your cousin and you it would have been at the reunions, but we were spread out since most suburbs were at least 2 hours from Chicago.
I attended Marywood Highschool in Evanston, IL and lived in Winnetka. Lisieux Garcia was a good friend and her mother Georgina and my mother Aracely Zuloaga came together in the group of parents that finally got out of Cuba in 63 and we were all reunited. We then moved to the "Bryn Mar" (?) train stop area, where many other cuban families lived. Your cousin's name rings a bell....Did you know Carmen Galiano and Yleana Garcia? Talk to me to remove the "cow-webs of our childhood memories" together!

Olga, I did not sign my name to the above Chicago Pedro Pan memories. I attended Marywood Highschool etc.
