Pedro Ramon's Story

My sister Graciela, Brother Antonio and I arrived in Miami on 09/22/1961. Our uncles, Gladys, Eugenio Jauregui and Silvia, Jorge Batlle were waiting for us at the airport and they took us to their house. A few days later my brother and I were put on a flight to Elizabeth, New Jersey to live with our uncles Elena and Rolando Colmenero. We lived with them until the arrival of our parents in 1962. After my parents got settled in NJ our sister came to live with us from Miami. Finally the whole family was together again and living in freedom in the land of opportunities. I want to thank my parents for their decision of leaving communist Cuba, the Catholic Charity program and the USA government for making this possible.
