Rosa, no me he olvidado de las fotos, pero tuve que venir a GA por 2 semanas, ya estoy al regresar a Miami. Sinceramente, me encanta la "Paz de la gente de GA"..Miami es demasiado competitivo. Pero en fin, una vez regrese, buscare las fotos de Chicago Pedro Pan "era". Ya las tengo de regreso. Saludos.

Hello Rose, nice to hear from you. I've found there are all levels of recollection in this site and I believe the age doesn't really matter. The funny thing to me is the things we remember compared with the things we don't; something you'd consider important can't be recalled while the unimportant details seem to glow brightly in your mind. That's such an interesting thing to me. You were very fortunate to be in a good home especially with the length of time you were separated. I was so sorry to read your dad never made over. I know that changed your life forever. I'm going to try and be at the 50th too. I'm about 100 miles from Miami and I have to drive down, spend the night, so on and so forth, but I'm sure it will be worth it. I'd love to get together! It's a wonderful idea. - Mary

Rosa says: Mamioli Mora was a saint. My sister ended up getting hepatitis at the camp and Mamioli wouldn't leave her even though she was in isolation!

Rosa,you and others you might want to know that Mamioli Mora passed away only last year at age 96.

I kept the list of the original Pedro Pan group I belonged to in Chicago. I've heard from a few of them, a couple of them through their kids who notified them I was searching for them. One had passed away, but his son keeps in touch with me. Which is so sweet and rewarding. The Delgado's don't ring a bell with me. I have a few party pictures I can send you. See if you recognize anyone.....

Hi Rosa....I was in Chicago too...check out my story...but in Winnetka, IL. The Chicago Pedro Pans got together quite often...did you ever attend any larger group events? I think the "big picture" is the important part in the story...a lot of the people I know watched it and we've discussed it and the general message they got was "the parents were justified...Castro did real bad things to cubans. That's what generated the Pedro Pan Flights." The other criteria is overlooked by the masses. "We" see it, but the important point as to why we "left alone" got accross.
