Dear Vivian: I'm so happy to see that you registered on this Network. Welcome and happy anniversary to you and your brother Sixto. Saturday marks the 49th anniversary of your arriving on this land of freedom through the Unaccompanied Cuban Children's program. And the rest of us followed! Thanks for paving the way! My best to both of you. Eloísa

Vivian, What an honor to have you be part of the Pedro Pan Database. For those who don't know, Vivian and her brother Sixto are the FIRST two Cuban children to arrive in the United States through Operation Pedro Pan on Dec. 26, 1960. Vivian and Sixto's mother, Belen Aquino, was a brave pioneer - the first Cuba parent to rescue her children from Communism by sending them to America with a visa waiver signed by Monsignor Bryan O. Walsh. Belen probaby did not realize at the time that 14,046 more children would follow hers.
