Mercedes J Santana Hernandez
Mercedes J's Story
Out of 7 children 5 of us came to the US first. It was very hard since my brothers were very young. We were very lucky to go to Florida City and lived with Tia Blanqui and Tio Ramon Gordon. God bless them for how wonderful they were with all the children they had under their care. It was very scary because we were too young to be separated from our parents and in a different Country. I remember crying to sleep every night and thinking we would never seed our parents again. After a couple of months they were going to send us to Denver Colorado, but my father came from Cuba and took us to live with him.

Merci, Your family went thru an awful separation. They split me from my siblings at first, but at least my parents were together. How much your mom and dad went thru.? We youngsters had really bad times. Your brothers were so young. Your sense of humor must have kept all of you going. Our parents deserve admiration for their sacrifices. Maybe we can write a real novel and tell the world. God bless Love Cousin Rosario
