Hi, Jimmy, I didn't realize you too were a Pedro Pan. I have such fond memories of you, Evelyn and your Mom in Great Falls, Woodberry and through the years. Our mothers, two women whom I admired deeply, became close, close friends. I'm sorry we've lost touch. I had the great privilege of having my mother with me until she passed away nearly five years ago. It's hard to think of you as a grandfather! I'm glad to hear you're married and enjoying life. I'd like to give Evelyn a call and catch up. Your story, coming to the States for "one month," is so similar to that of many of us... All the best always. Maria Elena Fernandez

Matecumbe 62 Zaragoza 75.

Do you have a cousin named Nelson, who lived in Houston in 1967-68?

I know what you mean about it being the longest 4 weeks of your life. I was suppose to be here for 6 months; I cam with my "Tutor" and never went back, by the sixth month of my stay in Miami, my mother petitioned I be returned to Cuba and my "Tutor" put me in the protection of The Pedro Pan Project to keep me in the States. I have never met my birth mother, hopefully this year at the age of 52 I will meet her for the first time. By the way did you ever work out of Kendall Regional Medical Center on Bird Rd? I am a nurse and I think I may know you from there, your name sounds very familiar. I worked at Kendall in the 90's, now I am in Central Florida. Loved your story. Rosa
