Hi Niurka, Thank you for your post. I loved your story. Reading it, it reminded me of my experience when I left Cuba. It was like if I was reading my own story. You did a wonderful job with your story. I too can not remember dates, for dates I go to my brother who remembers every place, date and time. I have blocked a lot of my childhood and emotions, I have not wanted to feel what I felt leaving my parents and living in the orphanage. We probably were in the same plane. I don’t remember getting on the plane at all. I graduated from Miami High also. God Bless You All!!

Niurka, Read your story. Yes it definetly made us stronger. We have had a great life specially when you think the alternative was 51 years of living under that terrible dictatorship. We traded the worst system for the best country on Earth. Thanks to our parents courage and determination. Love You.
