My older brother Emilio and I left Cuba, in August of 1961. We were lucky that we knew how to speak English, we stayed in Miami for a short period of time, when they sent us to live with a foster family in St. Petersburg. The family had three children and we just became a part of their family. They were very good to us. A year later my parents and my younger siblings were able to leave Cuba. Once, in Miami, the Episcopal Church sponsered my family and brought them up to St.Pete., and here we have been all these years. I have never returned to Cuba nor has any of my family. My mom is still alive at 86 and Cuba and being Cuban is always in my heart.I am looking for any Pedro pan kids that attended Cathedral School.
