Yes I remember the square dancing lessons at Florida City. They were conducted by Delia Diaz de Villar, and they were held at the patio next to the dining room. That was a lot of fun, I talk about them to people all the time. I am glad that someone else remembers them too. Thanks for posting those memories. Carmen

Pedro, This is the best thing since man invented the wheel!! Thank you for this site, I have already connected with 3 close friends from Matecumbe and are making plans to meet personally. This is great! Despues de Matecumbe, Jesuit Boys Residence, Opalocka, a local foster home (bad experience) Adele and I went to live in a tiny apartment until the family arrived in 1965 and the roles reversed by us taking care of them. All in all, it has been a great experience, one in which I grew up fast, met my future wife, Gladys, also a Peter Pan and to whom I am still happily married, had 3 children that in turn have given us 5 grandchildren and one more coming in September. I am today who I wanted to be and all because so many people intervened in my life. Thank you to all that have touched my life. This site is great, keep it up!!! Luis (Dorticos)

Finally, the persistence, unselfish dedication and untold hours of research by the caretakers of the Pedro Pan Archives at Barry University will be appreciated and rewarded. Our most thankful prayers go out to all of them.
