Miami Dolphins: For some fans, still an assumption of perfection
Number of comments: 10Fans don’t care about administrators. If they did, we would have devoted more space to the lengthy and distinguished Dolphins career of Bryan Wiedmeier, first when his role was changed and then when he left for Cleveland along with Matt Thomas.
And so I’ve been reluctant to write much about the [...]

Miami Heat: Wade part of a dream dozen (pick your own 12)
Number of comments: 2Ira posted a note on the site listing the 12 NBA players who have won both the Finals MVP and the All-Star game MVP.
Here’s that list, in roster form:
G — Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Isiah Thomas, Jerry West, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade
F — Larry Bird, Tim Duncan, Rick Barry

Miami Heat: Wade soars above stars (as Riley looks to add one)
Number of comments: 10This is becoming habit.
When Dwyane Wade plays with the game’s elite players — Olympics, All-Star — he tends to outshine most of them.
Now it’s back to reality: Joel Anthony, Quentin Richardson, Mario Chalmers, Rafer Alston.
Tomorrow, the long slog to the 2009-10 finish resumes.
I’ll be in Philadelphia and New Jersey with [...]

NBA: Dump the slam dunk, go with 2-on-2
Number of comments: 5What Saturday night showed is that there simply aren’t any dunks left to do. And those who might invent them (or at least give them different flair) aren’t inclined to do so.
So this is my annual time-to-dump-the-dunk-contest blog.
The question is what should replace it.
Here’s my suggestion:
A 2-on-2 [...]

Miami Dolphins: Chad Henne, to annoint or not to annoint?
Number of comments: 10Wrote a story about Chad Henne for Tuesday’s paper.
Here’s a leftover quote, one that I got from CBS analyst, and former NFL MVP Rich Gannon:
“I like him, I really do. I’ve talked to Bill Parcells about him, talked to Tony Sparano, talked to Dan Henning, they feel they have something [...]

Miami Dolphins: Ranking Joey Porter’s scorched Earth exit
Number of comments: 10Joey Porter ran his mouth better than he stopped the run.
He would (and should) have been released even before he started his team-bashing tour, one that took him to every media outlet short of C-Span2.
(Can you imagine J-Peezy on the Senate floor?)
Now the league has voided his termination, but it’s [...]

Florida Panthers: Losing games, trying to win trust
Number of comments: 10First, we heard GM Randy Sexton curse out his team for its effort.
(That didn’t help, based on last night’s scoreless performance.)
Now, the new owners have written a letter to fans.
I will comment further on this later.
Curious, first, for your thoughts….
Same old, same old? Or do you believe that anything will [...]

Miami Heat: What was learned before the break?
Number of comments: 10Sometimes, the Heat looks great.
Just look at what it did Tuesday and Wednesday, in wins against Houston (home) and Atlanta (road). It defended. It moved the ball. It attacked when necessary.
Will the momentum last through the All-Star break?
Probably not.
This team simply isn’t capable of consistency, not with so many ill-fitting [...]

Welcome to the new Season Ticket….
Number of comments: 1…. same as the old Season Ticket.
We just changed platforms, so go easy on me while I play around with it.
Will start posting entries again later today, and planning to diversify a little after the recent football emphasis.
(Not that most of you want me to.)
