Rob Lambdin's University Dodge in Davie has been offering customers a buy-one-get-one-free deal on select new Dodge Ram trucks.

For example, a customer buying a 2008 Dodge Ram Quad Cab, priced from $32,000 to $50,000, gets a base model two-door Ram truck valued at about $24,000 for free, sales manager Ali Ahmed told the Sun Sentinel.

Since the two-for-one promotion started in July, the dealership has given away about 15 trucks; other customers have opted for discounts and rebates on trucks or other vehicles, Ahmed said.

The deal was started as an attempt to clear a backlog of Ram trucks that weren't moving as gas prices hit the $4-a-gallon mark.

The sale will continue this month, but new incentives are being ironed out, Ahmed said.
