JetBlue Airways wants to add Latin routes from South Florida
JetBlue Airways plans to further expand its service at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport with two new international routes.
JetBlue, which considers Fort Lauderdale a ''focus city,'' said it will begin daily nonstop service to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and to Cancun, Mexico, in May 2009, if governments approve.
The airline will launch twice-daily nonstop service to San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Dec. 18 and flights to Nassau on Feb. 1. JetBlue already flies from Fort Lauderdale to 13 cities in the United States, with up to 46 daily departures.
