First Commercial Insurance ordered liquidated

Similar stories:

A circuit court judge in Tallahassee ordered First Commercial Insurance Co. and a wholly owned subsidiary, First Commercial Transportation and Property Insurance, to be liquidated.

The two companies, based in Hialeah, were placed in receivership last month. Together they had about 18,000 policies in force. First Commercial wrote workers comp, auto, general liability and commercial multi-peril insurance policies in Florida and Georgia. First Commercial Transportation wrote commercial auto coverage in Florida.

All questions relating to current policies and coverage issues should be directed to the companies' customer service department at 866-570-2184 until Sept. 23, when all policies will be canceled.
