This morning, Novak Druce + Quigg LLP Executive Partner Tracy W. Druce spoke on patent reform during the “Federal Policies Impacting Biosciences” session at BioFlorida’s 12th Annual Conference, “Convergence, Creating Biosynergy” in Orlando.

Mr. Druce’s presentation, “Changes in the Patent Reform Act of 2009,” discussed potential changes to the life sciences industry that could result from the passage of the Patent Reform Act of 2009, which was introduced in March and is currently pending before Congress. In his presentation, Mr. Druce discussed specific points on the bill and the possible impact to the life sciences industry.

Novak Druce sponsored the “Business Track” sessions at the conference, which focused on opportunities to expand the bioscience industry in Florida.

Novak Druce opened its Florida office in February 2009 and has already established a strong presence in the area. In addition to the BioFlorida conference, on December 2 Novak Druce is sponsoring the Miami Chamber of Commerce December Trustee Luncheon on ‘Florida’s Future and the Biotech Vision’ featuring Florida Senator George LeMieux.
