Sellers slashing list prices to lure buyers

In Miami-Dade County, 27 percent of property owners slashed listed sale prices on homes and condos in August, pricing more aggressively in their effort to draw buyers, according to Trulia.com, a real estate information services company.

Sellers cut the average list price of their homes by 14 percent, reducing the total asking prices of Miami-Dade area properties by $749,000 million. Within Miami-Dade, the Miami metropolitan area ranked 23 among the 50 markets experiencing the biggest percentage of seller price reductions.

In Broward County, 23 percent of buyers dropped asking prices by an average 14 percent for roughly an $312 million total reduction in value, Trulia.com said.
