I loved it. Easily read. Alan Deutschman does an amazing job demonstrating throughout history to current events the importance of leading by example versus blowing hot air no matter how extreme or mundane the point. His îîFour Elements of Belief'' are a very clear and simplistic direction for someone looking to stop talking and start walking. This book is used as a filter for readers to remember to be aware of their actions as if someone is always watching. You are leading to make a change by example even if you don't mean to. Angie J. Stone

Aventura

I enjoyed the book. It was easy reading, entertaining and reminded me of a few simple truths about leadership. I especially liked the stories he used as examples of îîwalking the walk.'' They were political, historical, personal and business in nature and provided a good enough background to be interesting and prove his point. Denira Borrero Miami

It's one thing to espouse a point of view. It's another to demonstrate leadership by acting out those points. Many examples are given, which should be an inspiration to the reader. Recommended to all potential and would-be leaders of the community. Barry R. Epstein Boca Raton

As a first-level supervisor, I was encouraged and challenged by this book. I would recommend it to individuals who are in a position to lead others and would like to learn from those who have succeeded at doing so. Luis A. Riverol Miami

Actions truly speak louder than words, and all leaders need to realize this, particularly in today's economic climate. Tobi Dienstag Pembroke Pines

What is even more powerful are the examples of modern leaders talking the talk, but not walking the walk: Al Gore, the environmentalist, living in an enormous 10,000-square-foot mansion using 12 times as much energy as the average American's home; Arnold Schwarzenegger, running for governor on a platform to reduce air pollution even though he owned five Hummers; and President Obama freezing salaries of his staff making over $100,000 but not reducing his own salary even though he has earned millions from his books. When you walk the walk, every moment is an opportunity to teach, train and lead. Mary Greenwood Bristol, Rhode Island

It is a quick, interesting read. I highly recommend it to all of today's business owners and managers. It is time we took a look at ourselves and started Walking the Walk! Sharon Wilson Homestead

Worth the read. A good reminder of the right way to conduct oneself. But aren't these the same attributes we see in well-respected religious leaders or good parents? Dev Weintraub Palmetto Bay

Just reading about what some of these guys did and, particularly, the context in which they took their actions, is really an emotional experience... kind of makes you feel more than envious; you know, thinking, îî...hey, I should be able to do that.'' The leaders described are well worth emulating. The next one could be any one of us. Ignacio I. Pena Miami

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a quick and easy read, both informative and interesting. I like this author. Terri Bryant Davie

Disappointed as I was to learn that many well-known figures I thought were excellent leaders were actually hypocrites, I found the stories describing them to be fascinating. The walk the walk concept is not new to the rules of what makes a good leader. This book's contribution is providing the evidence in an interesting style that so few îîleaders'' really live up to their billing. Sara Jane Hope Ridgeland, Mississippi
