Watsco reports lower profit, higher revenue

Watsco, a distributor of air conditioning and related equipment based in Coconut Grove, reported lower profit and higher revenue for its third quarter.

Net income fell to $21.1 million, or 66 cents per share from $23.3 million, or 81 cents per share in the same period last year.

Revenue grew 56 percent to $742 million, including $337 million added by its Carrier Enterprise joint venture.

Watsco is a distributor of air conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment and related parts and supplies, operating 508 locations serving more than 50,000 customers in 36 states, Puerto Rico, Latin America and the Caribbean.
