High-level promotions and new hires in South Florida
AVIATION
Steve Leonard has joined PrimeFlight Aviation Services as senior vice president of business development. Leonard was previously senior partner for the Americas for Sabre Airline Solutions Consulting. PrimeFlight provides aviation services including ramp services, cabin cleaning, baggage handling, passenger assistance and more.
American Airlines has named Jim Moses managing director -- passenger services at American Airlines' Miami hub. Moses started at American almost 30 years ago and most recently served as general manager at Logan International Airport in Boston.
Helena James-Rendleman has been named the finance director of the Broward County Aviation Department. For the past five years James-Rendleman has served as director of budgets and profitability for Virgin America Airlines.
BANKING
Great Florida Bank has promoted Jason Timmons, who began working at the bank in 2004, to relationship manager. He joins the institution's new business banking team.
Richard M. Rendina has been appointed to Lydian Bank & Trust's regional board of directors. Currently Rendina is chairman and chief executive of Rendina Cos.
Wells Fargo Private Bank has hired Jason Williams as regional manager for the Miami and Fort Lauderdale regions, based in Miami. He will oversee all wealth management functions for the region. Williams previously worked in Beverly Hills, Calif., as senior regional sales manager for the Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Los Angeles and Manhattan Beach regions.
Morgan Stanley Smith Barney has promoted financial advisor Elizabeth Camp to vice president, wealth management. Camp has been a member of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney for six years.
The Bank of Miami N.A. has promoted Alba M. Préstamo to acting president and chief executive. She replaces José Valdes-Fauli who recently resigned. Préstamo has more than 30 years of banking experience and has been with The Bank of Miami since 1991, previously serving as COO.
CONSTRUCTION
The Latin Builders Association has appointed Javier Granda and Pedro Munilla to its board of directors. Granda is an associate at Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod in the firm's real estate group. Munilla is vice president of business development for MCM Corp.
EDUCATION
Monty Trainer has been named chairman of the New World School of the Arts for the 2010 year. Trainer currently serves as president of the Coconut Grove Art & Historical Association.
Paul A. Garcia, certified public accountant and president, director and owner of Paul A. Garcia, P.A., has been appointed to the board at trustees of St. Thomas University.
The Broward Education Foundation and the School Board of Broward County have selected Jorene Jameson to head the foundation, which promotes and encourages educational excellence in Broward County Public Schools. Previously, Jameson served as chief development officer for the YMCA of South Palm Beach County in Boca Raton.
GOVERNMENT
Broward County Commissioner Kristin Jacobs has been appointed by the Broward County board of county commissioners to serve as their representative to the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority.
NONPROFIT
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County has appointed Brian T. Quail as chief executive officer. Prior to joining the BGCBC, Quail was chief executive for the Louisville Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Scott Ehrlich has been named executive director for the David Posnack Jewish Community Center. He will be responsible for the overall management of the JCC, including fundraising. Prior to joining the JCC, he was assistant executive director at the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center.
The Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd, the founders and the sponsors of Camillus House has appointed four new board members: Marc S. Cavaliere, Father Eduardo Alvarez, Edith Hudson and Steven Marin. Also reappointed to the board are Alan Graham Greer and Peter ``Chip'' Vandenberg.

Effective immediately The Patton Group is solely owned and operated by Marysol Patton, who was prior co-principal of the agency. Under the direction of Patton, the group will continue to represent luxury brands and services for national retainer public relations, events and marketing .
Christine Barney, chief executive of rbb public relations, has been elected to the board of directors for the Council of Public Relations, a trade association.

LAN Infotech, is pleased to announce the appointment of Henry Zaldivar Jr. as sales director. Prior to joining LAN Infotech, Henry worked at i365, Inc and DataCorp in Miami.
