At least one killed in Glades plane crash

A pilot died Sunday evening when his small plane crashed in the Everglades of West Broward, authorities said.

The man, whose name was not immediately relesed, was flying from the Kendall-Tamiami Airport to Ocala, said Kathleen Bergen, spokeswoman from the Federal Aviation Administration. It was unclear what caused the plane to go down, but the crash was reported at 6:45 p.m. near mile marker 40 on Alligator Alley/Interstate 75.

    Pembroke Park Lotto ticket wins 28 million jackpot

    A Lotto ticket sold at a Pembroke Park gas station won Saturday night's $28 million jackpot, the Florida Lottery said Sunday.

    The winner was a Quick Pick ticket sold at the Racetrac station, at 3031 SW 31st Ave. Saturday's numbers were 4, 7, 29, 34 ,50 and 51, and the Xtra multiplier for $2 tickets was 2. The winner, who was not identified Sunday, has the option of taking the jackpot in 30 equal annual payments or as an immediate lump sum of about half the advertised amount.
