'Grabber' loves car windows down
Posted on Thu, May. 08, 2008
Recently, with my car in the sun, I left the windows down about four inches. An hour later, I heard the alarm go off, looked out and saw a teen with a ''grabber'' running away. (This is a metal pole with a squeeze handle and pinchers. It's often used by the elderly or disabled to take items from cabinets not easily reached.) Later, I found my SunPass transponder on the seat! Apparently, the youth used the grabber to reach in and pull the transponder off. When it fell on the seat, it set off the alarm.
