Miami real estate is so expensive that locals are moving out

South Florida has been one of the 10 fastest-growing metro areas in the nation since 2010, an analysis of new Census estimates shows, but more residents are leaving than are moving in from other parts of the country, likely because of sky-high housing prices. That means that, along with births, immigration has become the principal driver of population growth across the region.
