Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden was the brainchild of Robert Montgomery, a founding partner of one of the world's largest accounting firms. Montgomery became friends with David Fairchild, who brought thousands of palms and other plants to this country as founder of the USDA seed and plant introduction program. Fairchild moved to Coconut Grove in 1935, and gave Montgomery advice on how to set up the botanical garden.View the photos at Flashback Miami
