Spirit Airlines Starts New Service Between Fort Lauderdale and Cartagena, Colombia
First Ultra Low Cost Airline Enters Colombian Market with $49 Introductory Fares(1)

MIRAMAR, Fla. --
Spirit Airlines today becomes the first ultra low cost airline to
enter the Colombian market with daily service between Fort Lauderdale
and Cartagena, Colombia.
Spirit is celebrating this new service with $49 introductory
fares(1) available today and tomorrow at www.spiritair.com. Every day
value season fares from $119 are also available at www.spiritair.com.
In addition to this new non-stop service from Fort Lauderdale,
Spirit also offers convenient connections from its network of 18 other
destinations in the United States to Cartagena.
The new route will be operated by Spirit's new Airbus fleet, the
youngest in the Americas.
Cartagena is Spirit's first destination in Colombia. The airline
also expects to initiate service to Bogota in 2008 and is studying
other potential cities for introducing its ultra low fares to the
Colombian market.
In addition to Cartagena, Spirit has also recently announced new
service from Fort Lauderdale to Long Island's MacArthur Airport;
Columbia, South Carolina; and Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, all
of which will begin operations in May and June.
"Our passengers have spoken and we are giving them what they want
- liberation from high fares and more destinations in the United
States, Caribbean and Latin America," says Spirit's Chief Marketing
Officer Barry Biffle.
Referring to Spirit Airlines' new flight to Cartagena, Oscar Rueda
Garcia, Colombia's Vice Minister of Tourism said, "The arrival of
Spirit marks a new stage in the history of Colombia's tourism and we
hope that it will soon cover other tourist destinations in the
country."

customer for each way of travel and include the base fare plus a
federal excise tax and any fuel surcharge. Fares are subject to change

takeoff and landing) of a passenger's itinerary; (b) up to $18 per
round trip in local airport charges; or (c) a September 11th Security

International itineraries do not include governmental taxes and fees
(including U.S. government excise tax) of up to $125 per round trip.
