Dick Corporation Hires New Senior Vice President of Caribbean Operations

Dick Corporation is pleased to announce that Michael Havener has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Caribbean Operations. He replaces Ellsworth F. Vines, who will be retiring in June. Mr. Havener comes to Dick Corporation from Island Global Yachting (IGY), a premier marina development company based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. His background includes more than 24 years of experience in construction, particularly in the hospitality, theme parks, and general construction industries. Most recently, as Director of Construction and Development with IGY, Mr. Havener was responsible for selecting, negotiating, and directing the construction of various sites acquired by IGY throughout the Americas and Caribbean and developing them into mixed-use waterfront marinas. In fact, he was responsible for the Caribbean's first marina and mixed-use facility specifically designed for mega-yachts.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Havener served as Vice President, Design and Development, for Gulf Bay Group of Companies and managed all aspects from planning and development through construction and turnover of luxury high rise, beachfront condos. His prior experience consists of many highlights, such as managing the planning, design development, and construction of CityWalk(R), a 500,000 SF entertainment complex at Universal Studios Florida. Mr. Havener also managed various condominium and planned community construction projects. He holds a BS in Construction Engineering and Project Management from The University of Texas (Austin.) He will be based in Dick Corporation's offices in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
