AirTran Airways Reports All-Time Record April Traffic

ORLANDO, Fla., May 2 --
AirTran Airways, a
subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), today reported record
traffic for the month of April 2008. The airline reported that revenue
passenger miles (RPMs) and available seat miles (ASMs) represent new all-time
company records for the month of April.
For April, traffic grew by 5.7 percent to more than 1.5 billion RPMs based
on a 9.9 percent increase in capacity. The company's load factor for the month
was 73.9 percent. The airline enplaned more than 1.9 million passengers for
the month, a 0.4 percent decrease from April 2007.
"As expected, April load factors were impacted by the earlier Easter and
Passover holidays," said Kevin Healy, senior vice president of marketing and
planning for AirTran Airways. "Summer demand continues to book very well."
